When we was researching for make-up ideas we used a number of tutorials on youtube to give us an idea of the different techniques we could use and this would help us decide what approach we wanted to take and what looks the most real. As we was watching the tutorials we got some good tips on how to apply latex such as not pilling to much on at once and applying a little bit of blood as you go along. We decided once we had these tips we could get some blood ourselves so that we could begin to test out on each other what looked good.
we also used trial and error and tested out ideas on each other. We used plaster molds to simulate cut effects which we then filled with latex to create reusable cuts that we could apply to the skin. After applied, we could then build up skin tone and trauma with make-up and add in the scab and fake blood for the finished effect.
